Howard W. Fisher

Arden - Howard Wendell Fisher, 63, of 73 Mulberry Court went to be with his Lord, Friday July 16, 2004 at the Brian Center in Weaverville. A native of Madison County, he resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He retired from DuPont in Brevard following 33 years of service and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Rev. Vaughn Curtis Fisher, Sr. and Carrie Helen Briggs Fisher and was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Fred Fisher. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Pat Jean Gibson Fisher of the home; son, Mark Fisher and wife Cathy of Arden; grandson, Steven Fisher of Arden; sisters, Nina Mae Reece of Weaverville, Grace Buckner of Alexander, Eileen Griffin Mars Hill, Iva Glen Green of Weaverville and Helen Griffin of Mars Hill; brother, Vic Fisher of Alexander and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Shepherd Memorial Park with the Revs. Charles Shelton and Keith Edwards officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Buckner, Bill Fisher, Nate Fisher, Donnie Griffin, Jack Ramsey, Johnny Gibson and Steven Fisher. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
