Herbert Parker Rogers

July 15, 1922 — February 20, 2003

West Asheville - Herbert Parker Rogers, 80, of 109 Appalachian Way died Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired in 1984 following 32 year as owner & operator of Rogers T.V. Service. Mr. Rogers was a member of The Asheville Gospel Chapel and a W.W. II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the D.A.V., American Legion Memorial Post #2 and the Original Buncombe County Rescue Squad, Unit #7. He was a son of the late Walter Alconie Rogers and Earlie Mae Watts Rogers and was also preceded in death by his sister, Willa Mae Rogers. Surviving are his sister in law, Ruth Rogers of Asheville and 4 nieces and 2 nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Green Hills Cemetery with Mr. Tim Warren officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
