Henry Vance

October 14, 1940 — September 10, 2014

Asheville Henry Edward Boby Vance, 73, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Haywood County, Mr. Vance had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Clydes Heating and Cooling, and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Mr. Vance served as a Medic in the US Air Force, being stationed in Weisbaden, Germany. He was the son of the late Henry Vance and Eva Ray Pressley, and was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pressley. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Vance; children: Sandra Gray, Regenia Vance and Cynthia Vance; grandchildren: Daniel Brower, Brittany Vance, Steven Vance Sams, and Alexa Enriquez; great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Madison, Ryleigh, MeKhi, Camden, and Knox; siblings: Edith Messer, Judy Runion, Marie Warren, Kenneth Pressley, and Susan Gregory; and several other members of his extended family, as well as his employees of Clydes Heating and Cooling. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Kannapel officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
