Candler Henry The Handyman Phillip Klaus, 60, formerly of Paterson, NJ, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 20, 2005 as a result of an accident. A native of Jersey City, NJ, he had recently moved to Candler. He was an experienced diesel mechanic and had been trained with Cummins Diesel Company. Mr. Klaus was a self made man, working as a self-employed mechanic until his health required him to retire. He was a strong advocate of Alcoholics Anonymous, and volunteered in many capacities in the organization. Mr. Klaus was the son of Noreen Mullen Klaus of Milton, FL, and the late Henry Klaus, who passed away in 1954. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Klaus. In addition to his mother, surviving are his brother, John William Klaus of Milton, FL; his niece, Kathleen Klaus of Candler; and many special friends. A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with John Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-5 PM Friday at the funeral home.
