Helen L. Michael

West Asheville Helen Louise Whiteside Michael, 94, of 325 Haywood Road passed away, Saturday February 25, 2012, at the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. Mrs. Michael was a native of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Charles Manning Whiteside and Mary Louise Donohue Whiteside. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bond Michael who died June 10, 1967. Surviving are her children, Walt Bond Michael, Jr., Terry Lee Michael and wife, Nancy and Helen Louise Lucy Michael all of Asheville; grandchildren, Brenda Crawford and husband, Jeff and Terry Lee Michael, Jr. and wife, Janet and special niece, Kathleen Raines. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Monday at the funeral home.
