Asheville - Helen Jones Gosnell, 86, of 380 Olivette Road, ended her long struggle with Alzheimers Disease with the family at her side on December 26, 2008 and is whole again with her Lord and Savior. She was the daughter of the late Charles Bailey and Ethel Wallen Jones and was preceded in death by her brothers Warren and Bill Jones. She attended West Buncombe School and worked at Enka for several years. She then dedicated herself to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a life long member of Victory Baptist Church where she held many positions throughout the years. When the Sunshine Club was formed, she was the first director, dedicating several years to leading her fellow seniors in many fun experiences. She is survived by her loyal and caring husband of 68 years, James B. Gosnell; daughter, Janice Bass and her husband Kenneth; granddaughter, Andrea Frank and her husband Kevin; grandson, Tony Jones and friend Laurie; several great grandchildren; her twin brother, Pat Jones all of Asheville; sister in law, Hazel Capps and her husband James of Columbus, GA. She is also survived by special friends and care givers, Joanne Moore, Phyllis Wadsworth and very special friend Jan Wilson. A very heartfelt thank you goes to them and to Mary Ann, Linda, Pam, Berta, Bessie especially Mary at Hospice and the staff at CarePartners, for their many acts of kindness given to Helen and the family in so may ways. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. James Lamb and Edgar Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
