Helen Irene Rice

Asheville - Helen Irene Wells Rice, 65, of 72 Goldview Road, died Tuesday July 13, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital following a short illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked part time at Hour Glass Cleaners at Woodland Hills. She was the daughter of the late Wade H. and Lena Stines Wells. Surviving are her husband, Huel Ezekiel Rice of the home; daughters, Donna Gallamore of Asheville, Sharon Moore and husband Eugene of Weaverville, and Shelia Lindsey and husband Joe of Leicester; sons, Michael Allen Rice of Asheville and Jason Ezekiel Rice and wife Raegan of Asheville; brother, James Elbert Wells and wife Elizabeth of Asheville; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Watkins, Ebb Jenkins and Jeff Owensby officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnathan and Joshua Gallamore, Justin and Joey Miller, Derek Rice and Tim Wells. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
