Helen Allison Watts

Asheville - Helen Allison Watts of 40 Impala Trail, Asheville NC passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Care Partners Hospice John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center surrounded by family. Mrs. Watts was born in Bakersville, NC and lived in Asheville since 1946. She is the daughter of the late Alphonso and Florence Allison of Old Fort, NC. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Watts, Sr.; brothers: Kermit (Mocksville, NC), Edward (Pittsburgh, PA), Charles (Old Fort, NC), and Donald, (Aiken, SC); and great-granddaughter, Maisy Ella Pitts. Mrs. Watts is survived by her children: Richard C. Watts Jr. (Karen) of Lewisville. TX, Edward G. Watts (Jeanne) of Watkinsville, GA, Patricia W. Purvis (Don) of Summerton, SC, and Carol W. Hollifield (Sam) of Weaverville. She has 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Arthur Allison, of the Veterans Home in Swannanoa, NC, and many special nieces and nephews. She was employed for 42 years at Vanderbilt Shirt Company as a bookkeeper. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Oxner officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. We would like to thank the personnel at Care Partners Hospice John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center for their loving care.
