Helen Allen

Candler Helen Hart Allen, 70, of 10 Mountain Range Road, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Elizabethton, TN, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past 51 years. She was formerly employed with Plastic Form and was a member of Lake Hills Church. Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Frank Bringer Hart and Ida Melissa Jones Hart and was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are her husband whom she married July 30, 1964, Phil Allen of the home; daughters, Cindy Klutz and husband Mike of Candler and Missy Smith and husband Greg of Asheville; grandchildren: Zachary Klutz and wife Sarah and Nathan Klutz and wife Ashley all of Candler, Tanner Smith of Asheville, and Starr Smith and husband David of Leicester; great grandchildren, Rylan Klutz and Kennedy Klutz both of Candler; sisters, Annabelle Webb, Beulah Garrison and husband Jerry and Louise Sheffield and husband Clarence all of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, February 1, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. James I. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
