Hazel Mcmahan

October 4, 1922 — February 24, 2011

Asheville - Hazel Pearl Lamb McMahan, 88, of 39 Grandview Road, died Thursday February 24, 2011 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Paint Rock in Madison County, she resided in Buncombe County since 1947. She retired from American Enka Corp. in 1977 following 30 of service in the textile lab. She was a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church. She was a daughter of the late John Nathan and Sara Elizabeth Blackwell Lamb. Surviving are her husband Frank Erwin McMahan; son, David E. McMahan of Asheville and whom she considered her son, Rony Boe of Asheville; sister, Thelma Hall and husband George of Candler and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Morgan and Rev. Dr. Don Price officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Aston Park Health Care Center, 380 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
