Harold "Happy" Roberts

Leicester Harold Happy Roberts, 63, passed away Friday, December 1, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life, Happy worked as a truck driver and was a member of Asheville Family Church. He simply loved life, and enjoyed making people happy, even when he himself didnt feel well. He also enjoyed shooting pool, riding motorcycles, and working around the church. Happy was the son of the late Edward Arthur Roberts and Ruby Callahan Groom. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Buck Roberts. Surviving are his wife, Teresa Rogers Roberts; children: Scott Roberts, Gene Roberts and wife Crystal, Stephen Garren and wife Misty, David Garren and wife Brandy, and Misti Garren; 8 grandchildren; sisters: Carolyn Williams and husband Marcell and Angela Hawkins; brothers: Paul Ervin Forrest and wife Phyllis and Gordon Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Asheville Family Church with Pastor Rolf Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
