CANDLER, NC - HENRY CLYDE HARRIS, 84, OF 95 HOLCOMBE COVE RD. DIED TUESDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2000 AT PISGAH MANOR NURSING HOME. A NATIVE OF ROXBORO, NC, HE HAD RESIDED IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY SINCE 1946. HE WAS A MEMBER OF WESTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE HE WAS ACTIVE IN THE VISITATION MINISTRY AND WAS A FORMER MEMBER OF GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE HE SERVED AS A DEACON, SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER AND CHOIR MEMBER. HE WAS A RETIRED AGENT WITH LIBERTY LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY. MR. HARRIS WAS THE SON OF THE LATE GEORGE AND LONNIE YARBOROUGH DAY HARRIS AND THE HUSBAND OF THE LATE NORMA ENLOE HARRIS WHO DIED IN 1993. SURVIVING ARE HIS 5 SONS, GARY R. HARRIS OF GREENVILLE, SC, RONALD K. HARRIS OF REIDSVILLE, NC, GEOFFREY C. HARRIS OF ORLANDO, FL, STEVE D. HARRIS OF ASHEVILLE, AND TIM C. HARRIS OF CANDLER; SISTER, MARTHA WATSON OF ROXBORO; 11 GRANDCHILDREN, 3 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11 AM THURSDAY IN THE ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. BURIAL WILL BE IN PISGAH VIEW MEMORIAL PARK. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 7 UNTIL 9 PM WEDNESDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
