Gregory Jon Oswell, Jr.

Asheville Gregory Jon Oswell, Jr., 22, of 4 Beaver Lake Heights, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 1, 2011. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Jon was a former Boy Scout, and was working as a river raft guide. He attended Jubilee Community Church, and had served with the Youth group on a missionary trip to Haiti where he had visited and assisted in a childrens orphanage. Jon had attended A-B Technical Community College. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James E. Oswell, Sr. and Theresa M. Oswell; and Britton M. Moore and Edna P. Moore. He will be greatly missed by his family and many loving friends. Jon was the son of Gregory Jon Oswell, Sr. and Evelyn Moore Oswell, of the home, and was also survived by his brother, Andrew William Oswell, of the home. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at Jubilee Community Church, with the Pastor Howard Hanger officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at their home. Memorial donations may be made to the Jubilee Community Church Youth Group, 46 Wall Street, Asheville, NC 28801. Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the Oswell family.
