Grace Black Rogers, 95, of 12 Freedom Farm Rd, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. Grace was the daughter of the late Ephriam C. Black and Bertha Styles Black. She was born and raised in Yancey County and moved to Leicester in 1941 when she married her late husband Albert Rollen Rogers. She was a member of Burnette Cove Baptist Church, and worked at Burlington Cotton Mill and retired after 44 years in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rollen Rogers, who died in May of 1999; 3 sons: William Jack Rogers, Tommy Dean Rogers, and Roy Lee Rogers; daughter, Martha Lou Rogers; grandson, Michael David Rogers; 2 great-grandsons: Luke Ray Surrett and Matthew Joshua Surrett; great-granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Surrett; and several brothers and sisters. She leaves behind a son, David Earl Rogers of the home; 3 grandchildren: Davey Rogers, Tracy Lance and Patsy Surrett; 10 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Louise Silcox, Dorthory Deyton, Virginia Joines; and many, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Donnie Surrett, Patsy Surrett, Danny King, Jason Dyer, Michael Dillon Rogers, Buddy Allen, Jackson Dyer, Justin Dyer, and Davey Rogers.
