Gloria Cundiff

September 16, 1925 — February 28, 2006

Asheville Gloria Genevieve Fulp Cundiff, 80, of 15 Fieldcrest Circle, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she worked part-time with American Greeting Card Co. as a representative, and was formerly employed with the City of Asheville Water Dept. for 13 years. Mrs. Cundiff was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was a member of the B.P.O. Does Drove #140, she loved playing Bridge and was a former member of many Bridge Clubs in the Asheville Area. Mrs. Cundiff was the daughter of the late Guy John Fulp and Beulah Elizabeth McMinn Fulp Bachand. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Lou Cundiff, who died July 19, 2002. Surviving are her daughter, Betty Jane Plemmons and husband Richard of Asheville; son, Louis Martin Marty Cundiff and wife Jan of Leicester; five grandchildren: Chris Plemmons and wife Suzanne, Holly Shriner and husband Foster and Martin Cundiff all of Asheville, Heidi Plemmons of Raleigh and Lauren Cundiff of Leicester; seven great-grandchildren: Alexandria Plemmons, Avienne, Jenelle, Loren and Rick Shriner and Adam and Amanda Fayssoux. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home and at other times at Mrs. Cundiffs residence. Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in memory of Gloria and Lou Cundiff for chairs and tables in the new Fellowship Hall, 200 Mt. Carmel Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
