Glennia Jo Austin

Leicester Glennia Jo Austin, 73, of 31 Jones Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 2008 from American Enka and was a graduate of Leicester High School. Miss Austin was the daughter of the late Joseph Weldon Austin and Margaret Evangeline Meadows Austin. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Robert Austin. Surviving are her brothers, Cecil Woodrow Woody Austin and wife Shirley of Asheville and Joseph Daniel Danny Austin and wife Edith of Leicester; several nieces and nephews and special companion of 33 years, Johnny Howell Robinson of Leicester. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Sam King officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
