Glenn A. Barnett

Asheville - Glenn Allen Barnett, 91, went to be with the Lord, January 17, 2008 in an Asheville health care center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County and U. S. Army Veteran of WW II, he was the son of the late Emma Reese Barnett and Jack Giles Barnett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie R. Barnett. He graduated from Biltmore High School in 1935 and worked for Sears and also owned and operated Barnetts Barber Shop. He is survived by his son John Barnett and wife Mary Jane of Asheville; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at New Salem Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
