Gladys C. North

Fairview - Gladys Christine Stanley North, 90, died Tuesday May 13, 2008 at Fleshers Fairview Assisted Living Center. A native of Sapulpa, OK, she resided in Amarillo, TX for 45 years prior to moving to Buncombe County in 1994. She retired as a Licensed Vocational Nurse after 35 years and had worked for Bivins Memorial Nursing Home in Amarillo, TX. She was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Earl Albert Stanley and May Fout Stanley and the wife of the late Nelson Burrow North. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Guinn, Margaret Dotson and Faye Bohuslavicky and a grandson, Gary Mark North. Surviving are her son, Gary Wayne North and wife Anaise of Fairview; daughter, Judy Tolbert Mahurin of Ft. Worth TX; grandchildren; David Wayne North and wife Debbie, Brian Keith North and wife Suzie, Debbie North the wife of the late Gary Mark North, Sherri North Watkins and husband Byron, Todd M. Tolbert and wife Kirsten, Timothy A. Tolbert and Kelly M. Gidden and husband Shawn; great grandchildren, Gillian, Garrett, Brittany, Austin, Jason, Ashleigh, Alysa, Megan, Rachel, Kurstin, Jessica and Kenton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ian Walker officiating. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery.
