Gerald Arthur Banks

January 22, 1940 — July 4, 2024

Gerald Arthur Lynn Banks, 84, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the River Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.


A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Herman D. Banks and Carla Della Carland Banks. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Banks; sisters: Lois and Elizabeth Pressley; and brothers: Charles “Flashlight” Banks, and Decatur Banks.


Mr. Banks enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidson motorcycles.


Surviving are his caregiver and longtime friend, Judy and Juan Ramirez; children: Geraldine Johnson Banks, and David Phillip Banks; grandchildren: Carrie Banks, Carla Gibson, and Daniel Banks; brother, Walter Lee Banks; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.


Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Tim Warren officiating.


The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Saturday at the funeral home.


Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to serve the Banks family.
