Georgia I. Miller

Asheville Georgia Irene Craig Miller, 68, of Asheville, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Duke University Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Ms. Miller was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, where she served as Church Secretary for many years, and was active in both the Church Food Pantry Program and the Daycare program. Through the years, she had served as foster parent for over 178 children. Ms. Miller was the daughter of the late Buster Brown and Mary Sue Wilson Craig. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Miller; grandson, Dillon Bailey; and brother, Bruce Craig. Surviving are her former husband, Jerry Miller, and his wife Pam of Franklin; children: Marianne Bailey and husband Ken of Leicester, Ray Miller, Joey Miller, and Denise Miller, all of Asheville; grandchildren: Justin Miller and Shelby Miller, both of Knoxville, TN, Grant Miller and McKenzie Brewer, both of Asheville, and Trevor Bailey of Leicester; sisters: Christine Osborne (Bob) of Swannanoa, and Dorothy Holt (Jack) of Barnardsville; brothers: Doyle Craig of Asheville, and Donald Craig of Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Riverside Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and from 10:00 10:45 AM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Anders-Rice Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
