George Richard "Heavy" Brady

Bryson City - George Richard (Heavy) Brady, 52, passed away Monday, April 25, 2005, at his residence following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, he had resided in Bryson City for the past 1 1/2 years. He was a member of The Old Rugged Cross Church. He was the son of Patricia Capps Mortier and the late George G. Brady. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Richard W. Mortier, Jr., and two brothers: William Roy Johnson and Larry Michael Mortier. In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Kathleen Hawk Brady of the home; his son, Charles Richard (Bubba) Brady of Weaverville; three daughters: Carrie Brady Castillo and husband Roman of Weaverville, Christy Cedillo of Asheville, and Candi (Zack) Brady of Weaverville; two children of the home: Zaybayon George and David (Munchie) Chiltoski; a step-son, Larry Stump of Fort Bragg, NC; two step-daughters: Tina Stalnaker and husband Duane of Stedman, NC, and Jamie Chiltoski and husband David of Bryson City; four grandchildren: Sabina Isabella Cedillo, Duane and Paige Stalnaker, and Danita Chiltoski; a sister, Tina Mortier of Weaverville; two brothers: David Mortier of Weaverville and Donald Mortier of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of his daughter, Carrie Castillo, 25 Windsor Drive, Weaverville. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
