George Edward Davis

June 2, 1947 — March 29, 2016

Asheville George Edward "Eddie" Davis, 68, of 157 Waynesville Avenue, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County, he was a self-employed Carpenter with an AAS Degree in Carpentry and Welding. He was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the US Navy where he served as 2nd Class Petty Officer. Mr. Davis was the son of Emily Elizabeth Bugg of Asheville and the late J.C. Bugg. Surviving in addition to his mother are his children, Dorothy Ann Culbertson and Donald Jay Davis both of SC and Cathy Diane Busbee and husband Randy of FL; grandchildren, Heather, Megan, D.J., David, Lisa, Jody and Erica; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Annette Bugg Erwin and husband Gary of Candler and Terry Bugg Harrin of Leicester; step brothers, Dewey Bugg of Candler and Joe Bugg and wife Sarah of Charlotte and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 3, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Walker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home. Committal services will be held at 2 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military rites to be conducted by the US Navy.
