Geneva Mae Gasperson

September 14, 1916 — April 10, 2015

Fletcher Geneva Mae Harrison Gasperson, 98, of Pearson Avenue, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Gasperson was a native of Fairview and resident most of her life of Fletcher. She retired in 2002 from C.P. Claire Company following 45 years of service and was the oldest living member of Fletcher First Baptist Church. Mrs. Gasperson was a daughter of the late Albert Benjamin Harrison and Mattie Robert Smart Harrison and wife of Guy Henry Gasperson who died March 24, 1956. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Guy Henry Gasperson, Jr., G.B. Gasperson and Tony Gasperson and grandson, Clarence Cordell, Jr. Surviving are her children, Roberta Cordell and Evelyn Brock both of the home and Cliff Gasperson and wife Jo Ann of Arden; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and 2 more on the way; sisters, Jean Brooks of New Port News, VA and Jane Hardin and husband Marvin of Fairview; brother, Melvin Harrison of Jacksonville, FL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Fletcher First Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Waldroup and Rev. Danny Gasperson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Emmas Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
