Candler Fredrick Richard Dickie McIntyre, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 19, 2016. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Fred and Blanche McIntyre. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dolores McIntyre Embler. Dickie graduated from Clyde A. Erwin High School and Biltmore College. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from a lifelong career in accounting. After his retirement he continued to serve his community by working with Seniors Helping Seniors, participating in mission trips and helping fellow church members. He was an active member of Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church since 1975, where he served as Treasurer, Deacon, Elder, and was named Elder Emeritus. He was also an active member of the Buncombe West Camp of Gideons International where he served as Treasurer. His love for the Lord was apparent in how he cared for his family and everyone he knew. He was a Godly, loving, caring, father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed. He was an avid Tarheel fan and enjoyed playing golf, attending sporting events, and loved spending time with his granddaughter, Maribeth looking for treasures. Memorial services will be held at 4 PM Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Mo Up De Graff officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Sunday at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Buncombe West Camp of Gideons International.
