Fred English

Asheville Fred Jarvis English, 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. He was a native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County. He retired following 20 years from the US Army as a Military Police, having served in the Korean and Vietnam War and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. English was a son of the late William Bryan English and Victoria Hattie Jarvis English. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Everette English and Bryan English, Jr. and sister, Ruth English. Surviving are his companion of 30 years, Sue Morgan of the home; son, William Bryan Billy English, III of Edgewater, FL; daughter, Elizabeth Louise "Lisa" English of West Chester, PA; brother, Danny English of Asheville and Marshall, Olivia and Jackson whom he considered his grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 3, 2016 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors provided by the NC National Guard.
