Francis "G.F." Duckett

Shelby, N.C. Francis G.F. Duckett, 72, of 2903 Fallston Waco Road passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County. Mr. Duckett had resided in Leicester most of his life, moving to Shelby in 2007. He was a self employed contractor and a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Duckett a son of the late John Weaver Jahu Duckett and Etta Sue Davis Duckett. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Reba Franklin and Millie West and brothers, Fred, Davis and Donald Duckett. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Robinson Duckett whom he married February 27, 1959 of the home; son, Gary Duckett and wife Lisa of Leicester; daughter, Rebecca Wicker and husband Raymond of Mebane; grandchildren, Kristina and Aaron Duckett and Lauren Wicker; step grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler, Stephanie Gilliland, Candice Plemmons and Kara Norton and sister, Thelma Huggins of Leicester. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.
