Frances W. Woody

West Asheville - Frances Louise Warlick Woody, 86, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. Mrs. Woody was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had served as Sunday School Teacher in the Pre-School Department for the past 53 years. She was a former Commander of the D.A.V. Chapter #2. Mrs. Woody was a daughter of the late Gilmer A. Warlick and Vernie H. Warlick and wife of James Woodrow Woody who died in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Norton and brothers, John Warlick and Robert Warlick. Surviving are her daughter, Carole Wise and husband Charles of Candler; grandsons, Greg Wise and wife Audrey of Arden and Evan Wise and wife Tracy of Candler; great grandchildren, Logan, Luke, Hannah & Brayden. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
