Frances R. Slack

Asheville - Frances Augusta Richardson Slack, 98, of 100 Wesley Drive died Tuesday May 10, 2005 at the Givens Estate. A native of Bessermer, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Augusta Johnson Richardson and the wife of the late Harry Lester Slack who died November 27, 1977. Mrs. Slack was employed as a Bookkeeper/Switchboard Operator for a law firm in Chicago, Illinois. Surviving are her son, Charles Andrew Slack and wife Darlene of Menden, MI.; daughter, Margaret S. Ottofy and husband Lad of Weaverville; grandchildren, Steven Brownell, Paul Brownell, Laura Fogle and Julieann Russo and great grandchildren, Alyssa Russo, Janelle Russo, Allison Brownell, Stephanie Brownell, Mary Frances Fogle, Hannah Fogle and Nathan Brownell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Lutheran Church of Nativity on Hendersonville Rd. with Pastor Mark E. Fitzsimmons and Pastor Sara R. Ilderton officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. Anders-Rice Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements and Geils Funeral Home of Bensenville, IL. will be in charge of arrangements in IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Givens Estate, ones local church or charity of your choice.
