Frances L. Solesbee

Mills River - Frances L. Allen Solesbee, 80, of Mills River went to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 20, 2005 following a long illness. Mrs. Solesbee was a native of Barnardsville, NC and the daughter of the late William J. Allen and Belle V. Carson Allen. Mrs. Solesbee graduated from Barnardsville High School and attended business school. She was a church pianist and organist for several area churches for over 50 years including Mountain Home Independent Baptist Church which she was a member. She retired from Kellwood Company after 22 years. She also taught over 100 students piano lessons. Surviving in addition to her husband Charles J. Solesbee, to whom she was married 63 years, are a son, Charles N. Solesbee, Sr. and wife, Ann of Greer, S.C.; daughter, Linda J. Yarley and husband, Wayne of Travelers Rest, S.C.; daughter, Nancy J. Wilson and husband, Rev. Rick Wilson of Duncansville, Pa.; 3 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters and a great grandson; sister, Jane Hyde of Marysville, WA. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs Dennis Horn and Bill Balcom officiating. Burial will be in Sluder Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
