Frances Hensley

Asheville Frances Ann Christy Hensley went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2017 at Mission Health System. She was born May 18, 1937 in Asheville to Walter and Nannie Robinson Christy. Frances worked as a personal caregiver for 35 years touching many lives before retirement. She was a Charter member of Temple Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Tony Hensley; sons, Greg Hensley of Asheville, Chris Hensley and wife Hollie of Morristown, TN; daughter in law, Lesia Hensley of Lancaster, SC; granddaughters, Shannon Reyes (John) and Melissa Robinette (Jeremy); great granddaughters, Shelby, and Leighton Robinette, who was born on Frances' birthday 1 year ago; her brother, Charles Christy; several special nieces and nephews and a host of friends at Temple Baptist Church, Depot Street Reunion group, and Fletcher Main Attractions hair salon. Also a special thanks to the thousands of people she struck up conversations with along the way. Frances never met a stranger. She also leaves behind a very special 4-legged companion, Max the corgi. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery on Friday. The family will receive friends from 5:00 6:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
