Asheville Frances Tiller Haynie, 87, formerly of 14 Cooper Blvd went to be with her Lord Friday, June 2, 2006 at Aston Park Health Care Center. She was born in Hart County, Georgia on March 12, 1919. Mrs. Haynie moved to Asheville in 1925 where she was educated in the Public School Systems and subsequently employed by F.W. Woolworth Company where she retired as a bookkeeper after 35 years of service. Her love was traveling both in the U.S. and abroad and had a special interest in history. She was a lifelong Baptist and had been a member of and active in Patton Avenue, Erwin Hills, Pole Creek and West Asheville Baptist Churches. Mrs. Haynie also attended several Southern Baptist Conventions as a messenger. She was the daughter of the late John Spurgeon Tiller and Sallie Russ Scott Tiller and was also preceded in death by her husband, P.C. Haynie and brother, Joel Hurdas Tiller. Surviving are her son, Albert L. North, Jr. and wife, Freida of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller and wife, Margaret of Candler; grandchildren, Albert L. North, III of Wilmington and Lisa J. North of Virginia Beach, VA; great-grandchildren, Albert L. North, IV of St. Marys County, MD and Jessica A. North of Virginia Beach, VA; nephews, Rev. Dr. David Tiller of Nashville, TN and J. Mark Tiller of Candler; nieces, Betty Joel Long of Annapolis, MD and Nancy L. Tiller of Candler. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller and Rev. Dr. David Tiller officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Aston Park Health Care Center for their love, support and kindness.
