Frances C. Bodenhamer

Alexander Frances C. Bodenhamer, 88, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. A native of Forsyth County, Mrs. Bodenhamer had resided in Buncombe County since 1964. She was of the Moravian faith, and was very active in various community and school groups. Mrs. Bodenhamer was the daughter of the late Jim and Blanche Coble. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, W.B. Bud Bodenhamer, who passed away January 27, 2014; and daughter, Kay Slawson, who passed away August 15, 2018. Surviving are her children: Gail Todd (Bill), Kerry Bodenhamer (Wink), and Kathy Hunter; son-in-law, Wayne Slawson; grandchildren: William Todd, Jr. (Tonya), Sherri Fisher (Michael), Ami Service, Christopher Slawson (Leila), and AJ Bodenhamer; great-grandchildren: Jordan Fisher, Mason Fisher, Brendan Stanton, Braxton Todd, Keegan Slawson, Caden Slawson, Wesley Slawson, Izzy Service, Evyn Service, and Logan Bodenhamer; and honorary family member, Ricky Payne. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Louis officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM 1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
