Flora Ray

Fletcher Flora Huskins Ray, 99, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Ray was a native of Yancey County. She had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life and had lived in Henderson County for the past two years. She was a homemaker and was saved as a teenager. She was the daughter of the late Chesley Huskins and Narvie Bailey Huskins and wife of Francis Benjamin Ray who died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen King; son, Howard Ray; son-in-law, Charles Reese and sisters, Lucy Queen and Pearl Queen. Surviving are her children, Nancy Reese of Fairview, Juanita Ray of the home and Bascombe Ray (Sheila) of Fairview; son-in-law, Clayton King of Fletcher; daughter-in-law, Sondra Jarvis of Asheville; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Shepherd Memorial Park with Rev. Donnie Walker and Rev. Doug Guy officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
