Everette Sumner

Asheville Everette Ervin Sumner, 97, of 213 Richmond Hill Drive passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Baptist Retirement Home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired from Southern Railway after 37 years of service, was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Mr. Sumner was the son of the late Conley Sumner and Sallie Louise Randall Sumner and husband of the late Bonnell Boulden Sumner. Surviving are his niece, Marjorie Cloninger; nephew, Hugh Boulden, Jr. and several cousins. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Welch and Rev. Dr. James Johsnon officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home.
