Evelyn Radcliff

Asheville Evelyn James Radcliff, 78, of 14 Nixon Terrace, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home. A native and resident of Buncombe County and a lifelong member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church, she retired as a Cosmetic Associate from Belk and was formerly employed by Iveys. Mrs. Radcliff was a daughter of the late Grant Cochran James and Vera Beatrice Whiteside James. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard G. Buddy James. Surviving are her, daughters, Marcia Renee Owle of TN and Cheryl Radcliff Myers and husband Bill of Charlotte; son-in-law, Freeman L. Owle of Cherokee; granddaughter, Leslie Renee Owle of TN; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen L. and Everett Rains of Asheville; the father of her daughters, Rex A. Radcliff of Bellingham, WA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home.
