Ethel Salter

Candler Ethel Inman Salter, 82, of 358 Reeves Cove Road, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Silver Bluff Health Care Center. A native of Haywood County, Mrs. Salter had resided in Buncombe County since 1952. She was a homemaker and a member of both Glady and Riverside Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Ules Blaine and Annie Swanger Inman, and the widow of James Howard Salter, who passed away December 16, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Tesner Baine; and sisters: Bertha Inman and Elsie Grooms. Surviving are her son, James Wiley Salter and wife Patricia of Asheville; grandchildren: Lea Faulkner, Colleen McCurry, Donald Tesner, Richard Tesner, and Susan Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Mann of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in the Bethel Community of Haywood County, with the Rev. Jesse Hollingsworth officiating.
