Ethel Emery

Asheville - Ethel Rosetta Hughes Emery, 84, formerly of 200 Tunnel Road, died Wednesday March 31, 2004 at Margaret Pardee Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of McDowell Co. She had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was a member of Deaverview Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Clayton Lewis and Allie Belle Johnson Hughes and the wife of the late Robert Charles Emery who died in 1974. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Calvin Hughes and 2 sisters, Addie Mae Hughes and Savannah Harris. Surviving are her 2 sons, Charles E. Emery and wife Mary of Leicester and Raymond M. Emery and fiancee Judy Rector of Asheville; daughter, Norma Jean Rowe and husband Mike of Charlotte; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall W. Bray officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.
