Ervin Edward Gowan

Asheville - Ervin Edward Gowan, 92, formerly of 33 Campground Road died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A native of Madison County. He had resided in Buncombe County since 1943. He retired following 30 years of service with Sales Biltmore Bleachers and was a member of Tennelina Church of God. He was the son of the late John and Betty Lamb Gowan and the husband of the late Enice Kathleen Etherton Gowan. Surviving are his son, Ernest Ruble Gowan and wife, Norma of Arden; grand daughter, Rebecca Gowan Pressley of Arden; great grandson, Joshua Daniel Pressley of Arden and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tennelina Church of God, Hot Springs with Pastor Bobby Hayes and Mr. Glenn Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery.. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
