Asheville Eloise Sarah Kinsey, 80, of 23 Providence Road, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Transylvania County, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past 50 years. She retired from Ecusta Corp. and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kinsey was a diehard UNC Tarheel fan, and loved her rose garden and her dog, Bear. She also enjoyed baking chocolate pies for her grandchildren and taking them shopping. She was the daughter of the late James Milus and Hattie Ro-Genia White Marcum. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie K. Bell. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Russell William Kinsey; children: John William Kinsey of Arden and Rojeanous Rush and husband Michael of Candler; son-in-law, Richard C. Bell of Candler; grandchildren: Major William Russell Kinsey, who is currently serving in Iraq, and wife Debra, Sara Kinsey, Tina Bartell and husband Craig, Jeffrey Bell, and Christina Rush; sisters: Elsie Hensley of Asheville and Lucille McCrary of Pisgah Forest; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. Preston E. Wagner and Rev. Fred Stiemke officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday at Pisgah Gardens Cemetery in Brevard. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Kinsey family with their arrangements.
