Leicester Elmer Pawser Parham, 89, passed away on Thursday April 26, 2012 at the Laurels of GreenTree Ridge, after a period of declining health. He was born December 9, 1922 to the late William Harley and Cassie Sluder Parham. He retired from the Department of Transportation after 35 years of service. He enjoyed his hobbies of farming and gardening. He was a member and Trustee of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ila Ingle Parham; two daughters, Shirley Clark and husband Earl of Leicester, Debbie Parham of the home; two grandsons, Ricky Clark and wife Melissa of Hendersonville and Marty Clark of Leicester; great grandson, Colin Clark and step-great grandson, Jacob Daley. The funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Anthony Fox, Randy Sluder and Paul Sluder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bill and Ted Hawkins, Charlie Fore, Cecil Ingle, Dean Sluder and Carlton Sprinkles serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Earl Clark, 404 Ridgeview Road, Leicester, N.C. 28748. The family extends a special thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Laurels of GreenTree Ridge for the loving care they provided for Pawser.
