Ellen T. Henderson

ASHEVILLE - Ellen Thomas Henderson, 82, of 4 Merion Court went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Madison County, she had moved to Buncombe County in 1953 and was a member of Biltmore Holiness Temple. Mrs. Henderson was a daughter of the late Jesse Thomas and Josie Roberts Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Swafford and brother, Delano Thomas. Surviving are her husband, James A. Henderson of the home; daughter, Mary Lewis and husband Bob of Edward, NC; grandchildren, Scott Lewis, Heather Cain and husband Billy and Brittany Lewis; great grandchildren, Avery Cain and Kalem Lewis; sisters, Lela Thomas, Lillie Mae Lovin, Mable Pace, Martha Littrell; brothers, Floyd Thomas and Dillard Thomas; several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2 to 3 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to services.
