Ellen Mcneil

Skyland - Ellen Lula McNeil, 93, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Beystone Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Yancey County, Mrs. McNeil had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a charter member of Skyland Baptist Church. Mrs. McNeil was the daughter of the late Welzie and Lessie Hudgins Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Oland and J.B. Wilson. Surviving are her children: George Pressley and wife Myrtle of Mountain Home and Paulette Bradley and husband Frank of Fairview; grandchildren: Greg, Anita, Paula, Terry, Frankie, and Brenda; six great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild, due in July; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday at New Salem Cemetery, with the Rev. David Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
