Elizabeth "Lib" Smith

Asheville - Elizabeth Lib Smith, 80, of 26 Monroe Place, died Sunday April 20, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital . A life long resident of Buncombe County. She was retired from Victoria Health Care Center and formerly employed with Farnam as a machine operator for 32 years. She was a daughter of the late Clingman William and Della Josephine Pike Smith and wife of the late Joseph Franklin Smith. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Alfred C. Smith and James Smith; great grandson, Nathan William Parham. Surviving are her daughter, Christine Regina Parham of Asheville; grandson, Michael D. Parham and wife, Felecia of Asheville; great grandson, Michael Christopher Parham; great granddaughter, Kendall Marie Parham; sister, Eleanor Rhodes of Forest City, NC; sister-in-law, Mattie Smith of Canton, NC and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
