Elizabeth "Lib" Simpson

Asheville - Mary Elizabeth Lib Herron Simpson, 96, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown, SC. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she had resided in Georgetown, SC since April 2010. She retired from American Enka Corporation and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Simpson was the daughter of the late Charles Edwin Herron and Lumanie Sprinkle Herron and wife of Howard Lee Simpson who died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Lunsford who died in 2002. Surviving are her son, Jimmy L. Simpson and wife Reta and son-in-law, Bud Lunsford all of Georgetown, SC; grandchildren, Cheryl Andrews, Keith Lunsford, Dawn Kanarish, Dwaine Simpson and Alisa Lunsford; 5 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
