Elizabeth "Lib" Gray

Asheville Elizabeth Lib Plemmons Gray, 84, passed away Saturday July 29, 2006 at St. Josephs Campus of Mission Hospitals following a brief illness. Mrs. Gray was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Lewis N. and Maude Randall Plemmons. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Jean Penley Jones and her 5 siblings. She retired in the early 80s from Memorial Mission Hospital where she had served as at the Visitor Information Desk and in her earlier years was a saleslady with Bon Marche in downtown Asheville. Mrs. Gray was a devoted Mother and Home Maker, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Asheville Christian Womens Club. Surviving are her daughters, Betty Gail Molnar of Conway, SC and Lee Gray Chapman and husband, R. Tom Chapman both of Pinellas Park, FL; son in law, Bill Jones of Alexander: grandchildren, Karen Wilson, Kim Pounds, Jeff Farmer, Kathy Hiler and Carolee Farmer; step grandchildren, Kim Barger and Tawney Brown; 11 great grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren. Private services will be held at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Baptist Childrens Home of NC, P.O.
