Elizabeth Franklin Ponton Bizzarro

March 10, 1936 — December 12, 2004

Asheville - Elizabeth Ayres Hope Franklin Bizzarro, 67, died Monday December 12, 2004 after an extended illness. A native of New York City, she had lived in Asheville for the past 16 years. She held Masters Degrees in Literature and Social Work. She was the daughter of the late C. R. Franklin, M.D. and Winifred Hope Franklin, M.D. and the wife of the late Frank Bizzarro. She was also preceded in death by a son, Franklin Ponton. Surviving are her son, Lance D. Ponton and wife Caroline of Waynesville; brother, Clyde R. Franklin, Jr. and wife Sharlene of Asheville; grandsons, Wesley and Jared Ponton of Waynesville and nephew, David R. Franklin. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Pounds and her son Lance D. Ponton officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home.
