Elizabeth Bruce "Lib" Dayton

Candler - Flora Elizabeth Bruce Lib Dayton, 87, formerly of 19 Asbury Acres Drive went to be with her Lord Thursday February 15, 2007 at the Aston Park Health Care Center following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Good Fellowship Club, Aston Park Health Care Auxiliary and the Asheville Moose Lodge. She was a daughter of the late Elvin and Emma Farlow Bruce and the wife of the late Glenn J. Dayton who died December 5, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Theodore Bruce and her sister, Pauline Bruce Vardiman. Surviving are her daughter, Irma Jean Rudisill and husband Edward Buddy of Candler; son, Donald G. Dayton and wife Carolyn of Fletcher; sister, Evelyn Ingle of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Glenn Edward Eddie Rudisill and wife Morgan of Candler, Donald Thomas Rudisill and wife Jennifer of Candler, Robert Glenn Dayton and wife Kimberley of Charlotte and Amy Leah Dayton of Candler; great grandchildren, Laurel, Gracie, Bryce, Allison and Channing; special family friends, Fred and Jean Wilson and their daughter, Pat Pinkerton and husband Colvin all of Plantation, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Lomax officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to: Aston Park Health Care Center Activity Fund, 380 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
