Elijah Jr. Kuykendall

Fletcher Elijah Kuykendall, Jr., 87, of Asheville died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Beystone Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Elijah Kuykendall and Survilla Lunsford Kuykendall. He was an automobile mechanic, custom car builder and racer, having owned his own business, Downtown Front End Alignment, for many years. Surviving are his daughters, Janet Riggs and husband Cort of Columbus, Teresa Russell and husband Mark of Rockford, TN and Diane Clay and husband Bryan of Leicester; sisters, Ruby Graham of Candler and Jewell Blankenship of Simpsonville, SC; brothers, Hartman Kuykendall of Leicester and Bobby Kuykendall of Asheville; grandchildren, Tonya Ingle of Asheville, Elizabeth King and Rebekah King both of Leicester and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 4 P.M. Sunday, March 24, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Zachary and Hartman Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
