Edwina Edwards

Asheville Edwina Ruth McDowell Edwards, 77, of 30 Rumbough Place went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from food service at Buncombe County School lunch room and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook, loved to cook and watch Judge Judy and worshipped her granddaughter, Sarah. Mrs. Edwards was a daughter of the late Ed McDowell, Sr. and Sallie Beatrice Morgan McDowell and wife of the late Verdy Eugene Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy McDowell Straleau. Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Beatrice Edwards Fowler; granddaughter, Sarah Rebecca Fowler; sister, Sallie Jean Ball and brother, Edward McDowell, Jr. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville, 30 Alabama Avenue, Weaverville, NC 28787.
