Edward Eugene "Ed" Biddix

Asheville - Edward Ed Eugene Biddix, 62, of 695 Pearson Bridge Rd., Lot #12 died Friday, April 2, 2004 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he had resided there for most of his life. He was a member of the Salvation Army and a former musician with Ludwig Drums and Harmonica. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired in 1995 after 20 years of service from the City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Dept. Mr. Biddix was the son of the late Lonnie and Leora Rice Biddix. Surviving are his sons, Kenneth Weaver of Clyde and Kevin Weaver of Winston-Salem; sisters, Rosalie Chastain of Grifton, Madeline Edwards of Winston-Salem, Doris Gainey of Darlington, SC, and Virginia Fletcher of Asheville; brother, Theodore Biddix of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Keegan and Kaelan Weaver of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with Major Al Smith and Major Terry Israel officiating. Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mtn. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
